Kathmandu

We'll meet you at Kathmandu Tribhuvan (KTM) and a private driver will take us to our accommodation in the heart of Thamel (Hotel Roadhouse). You can then relax or decide to follow our local guide to explore. It's also OK if your flight arrives Sunday.

Sun April 30

Helicopter transfer to Lukla & Trek to Phakding

We will drive to the local airport and meet our private helicopter charter to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest Region. We will marvel at the incredible Lukla airport and fantasize about jumping theres over lunch. We will then trek 2h to Phakding, our home for the night. The trail is mostly Flat.

Monday May 1st

Trek Phakding to Namche

Our biggest trekking day, we have 6h of hiking to complete. We'll pass Tibetan artifacts, buddhist temples, the sherpa hospital... Be ready for a steep ascend at the end. We'll spend the night at Pemba's incredible Khumbu Lodge in Namche.

Tuesday May 2nd

Hike to Syangboche, our Dropzone

As we continue acclimating, we'll take a hike up to the DZ (it's surprisingly difficult), get Expeditionary Experience HALO Certified, make sure we're ready for Jump Day, spend time with Tommy Gustafsson at the Sagarmatha Next Cultural Center, before heading back to Namche.

Wednesday May 3rd

5 Elements Dance, Puja Blessing, Hike to Everest View

We will start the day with the 5 Elements Dance, a yoga practice from the Himalayas. We'll then go on a hike to meet a Tibetan Monk to partake in a Puja Blessing Ceremony. The monk will bless our gear and ourselves. This experience is incredible and was a highlight of our scouting trip. It really transcends what we are doing here. Depending on weather and group energy we will start the training jumps or visit a Tibetan Monastary. We'll also move to the award winning Everest View Lodge, it simply doesn't get better.

Thursday May 4th

Jump Day Alpha

May the 4th be with us! Our goal for the day is to complete the training jumps. If the stars are aligned we will also begin the HALO jumps.

Friday May 5th

Jump Day Beta

Jumping continues, if all jumping not completed on May the 4th. Otherwise we will explore Tengboche.

Saturday May 6th

Jump Day Gamma (Weather Day) & Return to Kathmandu

If all jumping was not completed during the previous days, we can still jump on Saturday. We'll then fly the helicopter back to Lukla, and then on to Kathmandu. Expect the legendary dining and notorious Kathmandu nightlife to live up to its hype as we have a lot to celebrate!

F.A.Q.

  • What kind of VISA are needed for Nepal?
Most nationalities (U.S. + E.U.) can get a frictionless VISA on arrival. We'll explain that process before you fly.
  • Do I have to carry my gear up?
No. You don't have to carry anything up, we will arrange for porters to carry your gear and any luggage you don't want to carry yourself. This is included in the package price. We will pay your porters a fairtrade wage.
  • I have never made a skydive before can I still jump?
Yes, you can make a TANDEM skydive with one of our certified tandem skydiving instructors.
  • Can this be my first TANDEM Skydive?
    Yes
  • How many jumpers can climb in the helicopter?
Up to 5. One slot needs to be a qualified Safety Officer appointed by us.
  • Can my wife / friend do a tandem?
Yes, the load would be Tandem (2) + You + Outside Video + Safety Officer (non jumping).
  • What are the licence requirements for Solo Skydivers?
A USPA C Licence or equivalent and to be current when you show up.

You can acquire everything and anything in Kathmandu or even up in Lukla / Namche. As we will be hiking as a group with experienced guides through a "teahouse" trek, this is a great introduction to treking.
  • What are the risks associated with altitude sickness? Do I need DIAMOX?
Altitude sickness is no joke, and our experienced staff will monitor your acclimatation. Consult your physician if DIAMOX is right for you. None of us used it during the making of the video.
